We all know and love Annesdale Mansion. It’s beautiful, elegant, charming, and beyond lovely. When Ali told me that’s where she and Clayton were getting married I started picturing how absolutely incredible it was going to be. These guys are getting married THIS WEEKEND and I hate to sound basic, but it’s going to be LIT.
First impression of Ali: She and Clayton came to meet with us and I thought they were absolutely adorable (duh.) I could instantly tell Ali was the most friendly and bubbly person I’d ever met. Clayton reminded me SO much of John: Hilarious, kind, and so intelligent. The initial meeting ended feeling like we were just catching up with old friends. I just KNEW we would work SO well together. During our meeting, Ali said she considered having her bridesmaids hold kittens instead of bouquets…….. I KNEW I LOVED HER THEN.
Clayton and Ali have been together for a decade. You heard that correctly. I’ll say it once more for those of you in the back: CLAYTON AND ALI HAVE BEEN TOGETHER FOR 10 YEARS. We are SO excited to be a part of their most special day THIS weekend at Annesdale Mansion. Ali and Clayton both really wanted Fall engagement photos, which we were 100% ok with since after all, Fall is our most favorite season. The first or second week of November, there is a Sycamore tree that is completely yellow at Annesdale. It’s THE MOST gorgeous tree I’ve ever seen, and I am SO glad we got to make Ali and Clayton’s engagement dreams come true with this gorgeous tree.
When I asked Ali how the proposal happened, I was on the edge of my seat as she explained it:
Ali: “It was my graduation day from pharmacy school and we had an after party at our house. We had friends and family in town. It was Cinco de Mayo themed and my best friend Aud told me to come outside. I saw a piñata and she blindfolded me. I honestly didn’t think much of it. I hit the piñata down and Aud said look at your present! Clayton was on one knee. I didn’t see this at first and was searching the piñata for my present haha. People yelled at me to look and I FREAKED out. Wasn’t expecting it yet at all.”
I’m not going to lie, I saw this video and it was as magical and hilarious as she described. Who doesn’t love tacos AND engagement rings?! What more could a girl ask for?
I love asking our couples what their favorite memory of each other is. You already know Ali’s favorite memory of Clayton did NOT disappoint:
Ali: “It was our 3rd or 4th Valentines Day together. We were SO broke so I wasn’t expecting much. Clayton came inside the house with bloody fingers holding some roses. He had picked them from a rose bush and pricked his fingers. It was so adorable and equally hilarious.”
Aren’t they JUST the cutest?
Ali and Clayton, we are THRILLED to be a part of this time of your lives and simply cannot WAIT for this weekend. We adore you guys!
