Caitlyn and James are absolutely perfect for each other.
Let me give you a bit of a back story. Caitlyn is the daughter of Jimmy and Toni, our family friends and owners of VMWeddings Studio, and the sister of Ashley (another one of my brides, check out her engagement here.)
We are fortunate enough to have known this amazing family for YEARS! Toni and Jimmy have two incredibly talented, intelligent, gorgeous daughters, I know they must be so proud of the young women they have raised. Both Caitlyn and Ashley are getting married this coming year, and I am so extremely thrilled to have the honor to shoot not one, but BOTH of their weddings.
Caitlyn and James have the sweetest little story. This adorable couple has known each other since kindergarten. They have always had a special connection, even when they tried to ignore it, it was still there. After dating for several years, this past December, James proposed to Caitlyn. James totally gets major points because he got creative with his proposal.
……
What girl doesn’t want her proposal documented? Caitlyn and James have an annual tradition of a fun photo booth session. I’m sure December 2012 will be hard to beat.
Caitlyn had some of the sweetest ideas for their engagement session, which took place at the Memphis Botanic Gardens, where C&J will say ‘I do’ this coming October. I am obviously partial because John and I were married under the same pavilion, but I think it’s the prettiest little wooden chapel in Tennessee.
Caitlyn texted me early in the day and told me she was going to bring giant balloons………. I squealed. If you know me, you know how ridiculously happy balloons make me. There is no rhyme or reason to it. I see a balloon, and the inner child inside me comes out. When Caitlyn and James (and Mrs. Toni) arrived at the Botanic Gardens, they had a cart of props (heck yes.) I was THRILLED when I saw just how giant these balloons were. Luckily I settled down, and was able to focus. When John and I did our engagement session, my mom came too. I was glad to have her there, and she totally helped with my props, much like sweet Mrs. Toni did. I was thankful to have her there.
Caitlyn and James, you guys are TOO stinking cute. I am so happy that John and I get to document this special time in your lives, and I am also glad I found someone who loves balloons as much as I do!
You guys enjoy!
We can’t wait for October!
