I should preface this post with a warning:
You’re more than likely going to want Martha and Whitt to be your best friends at the end of this post. Why?
Because they’re some serious cool cats, that’s why.
Martha emailed me a couple of times before we met in person. There for a minute, I didn’t think I was going to get to work with this kick ass couple. They wanted a June wedding, and I already had five weddings in June. I was SO humbled when I received an email from Martha saying “Ok, then WHEN are you open, because we’ll just move our date based on your availability.” I still blush at that mind-blowing concept. How flattering?
Martha and Whitt are two extremely creative souls. Martha wore an altered version of her mother’s wedding dress with a simple flower crown. Watching her mom zip it up was such a special moment.
Whitt works at Whole Foods as the assistant store artist and does all of the super awesome chalk art (talk about a dream job.) John watched him “doodle” one of their reception decorations in about two seconds. Talk about skill.
Martha and Whitt got ready at Whitt’s grandmother’s home in the historic Central Garden’s neighborhood. I fell in love with just about every single thing in her home. We were fortunate to be able to work with Lynn Doyle’s talented team. Let me tell you something, I always ALWAYS love their work, but I have to say, Martha’s flowers (bouquet, bridesmaid’s bouquets, and boutonnières) were hands down some of my favorite I’ve ever seen. (I know everyone agrees.) We were also finally able to work with Philip from Creation Studios. He did an outstanding job working around my spastic self, and was a joy to be around.
Martha and Whitt got married at St. Peter’s Church and partied the night away at the Jack Robinson Art Gallery. The night SCREAMED Martha and Whitt. They did things THEIR way, which is no surprise for anyone that knows them.
Martha and Whitt, John and I are SO thankful that you guys trusted us with documenting your special day. We’re grateful for the friendship we’ve cultivated with you both.
Enough blah blah! Let’s let the pictures do their job!
Enjoy
