I can so very easily say, this wedding is “the” wedding that ALL photographers hope to one day have in their portfolio.

Remember Allison + Wesley? I gushed over them here:  (Be sure to read it because they have the sweetest story.)

We were lucky enough they allowed us to tag along to shoot their New Orleans wedding. Their wedding was actually over a year ago but as much as we shoot, editing seems to take over all free time so here I sit, blogging this gorgeous wedding (that was featured on Rock N’ Roll Bride) over a year later.

One of my all time favorite quotes is this one by Tennessee Williams:

“America has only three cities: New York, San Francisco, and New Orleans.
Everywhere else is Cleveland.”

New Orleans really does have some serious magic to it. Very recently, Allison and Wesley followed their dreams to move there, and I’ve been their #1 snapchat fan ever since.

Wesley and Allison made the smart decision to see each other before the ceremony which provided them with ample opportunities to take advantage of the French Quarter for photos. Allison really wanted photos near an ivy wall, and John and I were lucky enough to find one not far away from their venue, which was an adorable Bed and Breakfast. These two invited only their closest friends and family and tied the knot in such an intimate way. Allison’s grandma gave a speech, and nearly everyone cried.

Let’s talk about one thing, pretty much the highlight of my career thus far. TWO WORDS. SECOND.LINE.

In case you also have been buried under a rock for your entire life (like me) a second line is defined by Wikipedia as: “Second line is a tradition in brass band parades in New Orleans, Louisiana. The “main line” or “first line” is the main section of the parade, or the members of the actual club with the parading permit as well as the brass band.”

I think I was grinning from ear to ear throughout the entire walk. It was high energy, crowds were yelling congrats, throwing beads, and celebrating with Allison and Wesley.

These love birds had their wedding reception at Vacherie, which was both lovely and served amazing, traditional New Orleans style food.
