I can only guess that your response to me blogging finally is “OMG, she IS alive.” Haha, yes, I’m alive and finally ready to get caught back up on all of my awesome 2016 couples (and let’s not forget all of the awesome people from 2015 too.)
I wanted to start the year off right with this dynamite couple.
Everyone meet Wesley (girl) and Eli.
I’ll never forget the first inquiry I got from Wesley, I assumed SHE was a HE so her email had me baffled in all kind of ways. She was polite and thorough, so I did what all wedding vendors do, I looked ‘Wesley’ up on Facebook. (Your wedding vendors are lying if they say they don’t creep up on you.) To my surprise, Wesley is a GIRL, a gorgeous, well put together, Kate Spade-esque looking poster child. Then it all clicked.
I was so excited to have them over at our house in Memphis before we moved. She was as prim and proper as I imagined, and there I sat with a messy bun. Or maybe my hair was done and I was wearing yoga pants. Either way, I looked homeless compared to Wesley. But then we all got to talking, and Eli had us in stitches. Now, I’ll admit, I’m proud to tell people her in San Francisco that I’m from the South. I’d say about 90% of our Uber drivers here tell me that I have an accent. Most ask if I’m from Texas, I guess it’s the frequent “yall’s” I refuse to give up. But you haven’t HEARD an accent till you hear Eli talk. It makes me smile, and want to drink sweet tea on a front porch in a mason jar through a straw. (How’s that for descriptive?!)
Together, I’m confident Wesley and Eli could rule the world. I mean, Wesley is TOTALLY first lady material, and I feel I speak for MOST when I say these two are far better options than the alternative. (Let’s reel it back in, Kel. )
Wesley and Eli are getting married this March at their church and having their reception at the beautiful Dixon Gallery + Gardens.
John and I are simply thrilled they’ve allowed us to be a part of such a special time in their lives.
Now, go enjoy the future Mr. and Mrs. President.
