Oh my heart.

Where do we even begin with Jennifer and Travis? How about how they inquired with us over a year ago for their September 2017 wedding at the Dixon? I knew from the first email that Jennifer and I would click instantly.

When we finally got to meet up, Jennifer brought her sister in law Soleil to our house and we had an absolute ball with them. We talked about Travis, and honestly even though he wasn’t there, we could tell how amazing their connection was just by hearing Jennifer describe it. Their loved seemed simple, natural, and real.

When we finally got to meet Travis at their engagement session at the Dixon last fall, everything we thought was confirmed. Travis and Jennifer were extremely comfortable in front of the camera (and if they weren’t, they really may need to look into acting because they totally fooled us.) Travis doesn’t have to say or do much at all to make Jennifer laugh. Their energy together is absolutely contagious, and being around them truly is a joy.

The leaves were colorful at their engagement session, the weather was wonderful, and these babes absolutely rocked this session. Jennifer’s makeup was absolutely flawless thanks to queen Kasey Acuff and all of her talents.

Jennifer and Travis, I can’t believe your day is finally (almost) here! We’re so excited and cannot wait to be a part of it!

Katie and Alec are two of our most favorite people. I genuinely mean that. They are beyond generous, so kind, and ecstatic about life in general. They are the BEST kind of people and if they lived in town, I would force them to hang out with us all the time.

This wedding makes our hearts sing! It’s full of color, personality, and delectable food! What more could you want? The jewel tone restaurant wedding (yes, you read that right) takes place at a stunning and unique restaurant in Memphis, Tennessee. Burgundy, teal, and lavender pop against the naturally green venue. In addition to statement making florals, the bride’s Watters gown is in a league of it’s own!
Katie and Alec are some of the most creative, intelligent, hilarious people we’ve ever met. Katie booked us over 2 years ago, and we’re so glad she did because this is one of our very favorite weddings.
After I delivered Katie and Alec’s wedding images to them, I reached out to her and asked her what she would title her wedding if she could. She laughed and told me she wasn’t good with titles, and all she could come up with was “a cozy, sensory-overloading, foodie’s dream wedding.” Katie and Alec are both “foodies” aka, share a love for delicious, fine foods. It only made sense that they get married at one of Tennessee’s finest restaurants.

Acre is a rustic-yet-sophisticated eatery featuring modern American cuisine, unique and creative drinks & family style meals. Every single course of their meal was well thought out. From the watermelon mint salad, to the cajun crawfish bread, to the delectable blueberry and marigold ice cream, it’s safe to say all of Katie and Alec’s wedding guests were in for a treat. Acre is one of the most charming restaurants and venues we’ve ever shot at. It’s tucked in a little nook in East-Memphis. The shrubbery around it makes it feel like a fairy cottage, with a bright statement yellow door. Its atmosphere makes you feel like you’re eating at home with good friends and family, which is exactly what Katie and Alec wanted.

Her Watters’ gown was the perfect touch of glam to such a rustic location, and don’t even get me started with the jewel toned accents and organic florals. I’m sure Katie and Alec can do much more justice at describing their perfect day, but honestly, the images speak for themselves!

We were so fortunate to be able to work with some of Memphis’ very best vendors. Kasey Acuff did Katie and her maid’s makeup which made such a statement. Emily McElhaney gave Katie long romantic curls which were so elegant, and styled the bridesmaids’s hair. Everbloom Designs created and styled the florals which made everyone’s heart skip a beat. The day came together absolutely perfectly with the help of Southern Sparkle and their wonderful team. I highly recommend checking Southern Sparkle Wedding and Event Planning out. Krisy and her team obsess over even the tiniest detail with smiles on their faces, and they are all beyond helpful.

This wedding was also featured on Inspired by This, so be sure to check that out!

Katie and Alec, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to capture these memories for you!

If Katy looks familiar, it may be because she’s done your makeup before, OR maybe you remember her from Ashley + Peyton’s wedding where she was a gorgeous bridesmaid.

John and I were absolutely ecstatic when Katy and Blake asked US to shoot their wedding this September at the stunning Annesdale Mansion. (Which is where we did their engagement session!)

These guys have the sweetest proposal story. Apparently they are both hopeless romantics like we are because Blake proposed in the most magical place on Earth, DISNEY! Katy and Blake were surrounded by their family (and adorable son, Ezra who John and I cannot wait to meet.)

John and I have actually met most of Katy’s sweet family because Katy and Ashley are cousins (and they look so much alike, I accidentally called Katy- Ashley at their engagement session, oops!) Her whole family is just precious. We’re so looking forward to their big day this September!

Katy + Blake, we cannot wait for your wedding. We’re anxiously counting the days!

I’m confident you guys remember these two cuties.

We knew this wedding was going to be an absolute slam dunk. Why, you ask?

Well, for one, it’s Makenzie and Tyler. That’s basically all you need, BUT, when you throw in Spring Creek Ranch, Kasey Acuff, and Kacie Cooper Florals, it’s a winner winner chicken dinner.

These guys have had their photos now for almost a year, but it feels SO good to finally blog these beauties. Tyler and Makenzie got married LAST July, and even despite the heat, these two looked like complete rockstars all day.

Makenzie wore a beaded sweetheart gown that shimmered all day and night. Tyler and his groomsmen wore navy suits which are perfect for a summer wedding in the south. Makenzie’s bridesmaids wore pale pink which looked great with their pastel bouquets that popped against their dresses.

Tyler and Makenzie decided on a first look which was perfect because they were able to take advantage of all the grounds Spring Creek Ranch has to offer. They also were able to quickly enjoy their reception shortly after their ceremony!

Tyler and Makenzie started off as “clients” (and you know I don’t like that word) but quickly became some of our very dear friends. We consider ourselves so lucky to have been the chosen souls that captured such a special day.

T+M, we love you both! Enjoy re-living these images again!
