I don’t really even know how to begin this post. I am so worried I won’t say the most perfect, right thing, because Lauren and Maverick are just THAT special. I’m going to try my best not to be too wordy, and just let the images speak for themselves, but you know I can’t NOT talk about such a Godly couple.

Let’s go back to 2012. Remember this: https://kellyginnphotography.com/laurenmaverick-as-fate-would-have-it/

Lauren and Maverick photograph so well together, and although they are both extremely easy on the eyes, I think it has more to do with the fact that they are so natural together. It was written LONG ago for these two love birds to be joined as one.

I’ve enjoyed getting to know BOTH Lauren and Maverick over the duration of their engagement. You can tell just exactly how loved they truly are by ALL because there was not an empty seat nor a dry eye in the entire chapel. (But really, I saw folks grabbing chairs and making their own rows, not to mention many that were standing.) No one wanted to miss the first step of the rest of Lauren and Maverick’s lives.

Can we just talk about how totally amazing Maverick’s name is? Don’t get me wrong, Lauren is pretty sweet also, it’s my middle name. But I’ve always been a name person, I’ve named all four of my hypothetical children, that I’ll probably never have, and the first time I heard Lauren say Maverick, I fell in LOVE, with the name- of course. When Lauren and Maverick exited their reception, I noticed their super awesome retro-classic car  said ‘Maverick’ on the side. I decided to ask a couple of folks and see if maybe that’s where his parents heard the idea. After Catherine, Lauren’s gorgeous MOH asked Maven, (yes, another amazing name) Maverick’s sister, why he was named that she said this:

“My mom used to write poems and short stories, and Maverick was always the hero in them.”

I DIED. I mean that is so incredible to me. Maverick is SUCH a great guy, he kept saying ‘thank you,’ and adored Lauren the entire day. When Maverick and Lauren had their first look he turned around and said “You look like a beautiful princess swan.” I laughed with tears in my eyes. Lauren and Maverick always have fun together, always, and I know that’s how their next 1000 years will be as well.

Lauren and Maverick were married in their church, Bellevue Baptist, which was completely appropriate because the only thing Lauren and Maverick love more than each other is the Lord.

April 20th was full of several things, beautiful wedding attendants, two amazing families, laughter, the Lord, excitement, color, tears, and most of all, love. John and I were so honored to be there.

Mr. and Mrs. Ford, enjoy re-living your day!

Monogrammed anything is always a good idea.

Snap Chat is DEFINITELY worth downloading

Lauren decided she wanted to be revealed to the bridesmaids AND groomsmen, what a good idea!

I think I see a peeker!

Catherine, in all black on the left is Lauren’s MOH. Her face says it all.

A priceless reaction when Maverick’s groomsmen saw Lauren.

Maverick and Lauren decided to do a first look. I’ve decided they are my most favorite.

Lauren glowed ALL day. It was ALL so natural.

This is so dreamy, it may just be my favorite.

BOTH of these ladies have the prettiest eyes!

Lauren and Maverick had a huge bridal party, but they were all so lovely, and such a joy to work with!

Lauren’s mom Lindy was so precious the entire day. What a sweet woman.

Lauren and Maverick had two married couples in their bridal party! How sweet is that?

Such a sweet moment!

Three generations, grandma, mom, Lauren!

Look at that face.

I didn’t know this was coming, but how great is this?!

After Lauren and Maverick’s ceremony we took a couple of minutes to take portraits during the golden hour!

So, this was awesome.

Lauren had the CUTEST canvases printed with their engagement pictures that I shot last year, these were SO great!

When I saw all of these, I couldn’t help but blush.

I wanted to give Lauren and Maverick a little something, my all time favorite portrait.

Lauren had silver balloons on her dance floor, and it made quite a statement, especially in pictures!

Lauren had her guest throw sprinkles when they exited, I knew that called for a ring shot!

Lauren requested the wop, I managed to stop dancing long enough to get this.

This is straight up legendary.

Lauren looks just like a Disney Princess here!

Amanda, on the far right, is one of my brides later on this year. The Murley girls are simply fabulous.

love this.

I wasn’t sure how the sprinkles would show up in the dark, but they really did!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Ford. I hope you are having a blast in Brazil!

Mark Murley - How do you describe the day you walk your daughter down the aisle?
How do you tell people how beautiful the wedding was or how wonderful the day would be?
These pictures and how professional these photographs are tell my story.
    Beautiful Bide. A wonderful day.
Thanks again Kelly for all you’ve done.

I fall in love with all of the couples that hire me to document the most special day of their lives. I’m a sucker for romance, stories of how couples first met, note passing, and reminiscing on the good ‘ole days. I’d love to think that I would find a story more precious than Krissa and Nick’s but I’m afraid they’ve got us all beat!

When Krissa called me about shooting her wedding, she inquired about the only Saturday I had available in April. Everything just fell into place for these love birds, and I honestly believe God’s perfect timing had A LOT to do with it. I went to middle school and high school with both Krissa and Nick, so I knew of them, but they were 1 and 2 years ahead of me, so I didn’t “know” them personally, but as John and I drove away from their wedding we both looked at each other and said “I wish we’d known them sooner.” They are some of the coolest, most down to earth, fun people I’ve ever been around.

When I think of Krissa, I think of Nick, as in my brain doesn’t just picture one without the other, and I truly believe that is how it’s supposed to be. Nick and Krissa have been together for almost 7 years, and their wedding felt like a high school reunion of supportive friends and family who have been patiently and eagerly waiting for them to officially tie the knot. Even Krissa’s Matron of Honor, Roxana said during her speech “Nick, I can’t tell you anything about Krissa that you don’t know because we lived all of our memories together.” (I ALMOST cried 100 times throughout the day.) Wanna know the BEST part about these love birds? THEY GREW UP RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO EACH OTHER!!!! Like literally RIGHT next door, you could throw a rock from Krissa’s house and it would hit Nick’s. Both Krissa and Nick’s parents still live next door to each other. I can just imagine all of the late night walks and phone calls Krissa and Nick made to each other, it made the day ALL the more sweeter. It only made since for Nick and Krissa to get married where it ALL began, their backyard!

Nick is an Naval Aviator and Krissa is an RN. The new Mr. and Mrs. Rodgers will be residing in sunny Florida, lucky them!

Krissa and Nick’s wedding honestly made me realize being born and raised in the South is a privilege. All of the cowgirl boots, horseshoes, white picket fences, hay bales, country music, and ‘hey-yall’s’, truly are charming and I saw/heard ALL of those at K&N’s wedding.

A quick thank you to John Ginn for assisting me the entire day, and for tons of amazing images. (Which you will see several of below.)

Get ready for a sunny, tear filled, southern good time!

Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Rodgers!

I love how Nick reminded Krissa of the EXACT amount of time they had left!

One of my favorite ring pictures to date.

So this REALLY melted my heart, because I AM ALL about letters. Krissa and Nick have been keeping separate journals about each other since 2006. They’ve let each other read them, but wrote a note to each other the night before their wedding and read it on their special day.

I had to stop for a minute to wipe my eyes.

I LOVED Krissa’s Blink 182 stickers on her light switch.

Brandi, one of Krissa’s bridesmaids had ALL of us laughing the entire day!

Nick’s best man is Eric, Krissa’s brother and best friend.

Krissa requested photos with her dog, Jazz. Jazz is a poodle, and BEAUTIFUL!

Sometimes you have to help a girl out!

The lavender and hay mix in Krissa’s bouquet was simply stunning.

I’ll be honest. These next several images are VERY near and dear to my heart. Every time I see them I tear up, I even showed my mom, and she cried. You’ve been warned.

Krissa decided to have a ‘first look’ with her dad, Kevin. (who I am NOT allowed to call Mr. Kirchoff)

I already think Krissa has the most adorable, precious dad I’ve ever seen, but these make him even more precious!

His reaction, PRICELESS!

My favorite.

I also went to middle school and high school with Eric, Krissa’s brother. His reaction when he saw Krissa was unexpected, but such a sweet moment. I didn’t realize the two of them were crying, I was trying to get portraits done, when I saw them. I said “Oh goodness, I’ll let you guys have a minute!” Eric, you are a precious brother to Krissa.

Sweet Eric, still crying!

Brandi said “Here, wipe your face on my dress, it’s long.” So sweet and funny!

Krissa had paper airplanes placed on every guest’s seat, as a tribute to Nick’s new career as a Naval Aviator. Her guest threw them once the couple shared their first kiss.

Per Krissa’s request, what silly kids!

Krissa and Nick were still a little emotional during their first dance, but so sweet!

One of my favorites.

How sweet is this?

I LOVED how trendy some of Krissa and Nick’s guests were. I am in love with this mint lace dress!

Thank you Krissa and Nick for an amazing night! Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Rodgers!

Lyn Rodgers - Kelly, it was so great to see you again! I was so thrilled your were their photographer. You truly captured Nick and Krissa’s love on film. I think everyone at the wedding felt the same joy on their day, and I know there were very few, if any, dry eyes. I have had the pleasure of watching the two of them grow up together, beginning with a deep friendship that grew into the kind of love I wish everyone could experience once in their lifetime.
As the song goes…”what a wonderful world…” this would be if we all loved this dearly. Thank you for the beautiful photos and I look forward to seeing the rest of them…LynReplyCancel

Veronica McConnell - OMG I love the paper from the ring shot, could you ask the bride where she got it?ReplyCancel

The first time I ever met Lauren, was with her mom at a client meeting in Starbucks. This red-haired green eyed beauty bounced her way in, and I knew we were definitely going to click.

And sure enough, we did.

Lauren was ECSTATIC about being engaged. Obviously everyone is thrilled when they get engaged, but Lauren just has this constant glow at all times. I know this because I happened to run into her at a Memphis Basketball game after she and Joseph had booked me and she was even glowing in the dark, because we were sitting at the very TIP TOP of the stadium. (Joseph is a HUGE Memphis fan, as is John, so they got along well.)

Lauren and Joseph are getting married this June, and I am just smitten that she chose ME to document her special day. As I made small talk with Joseph, I asked how long they had been together, he knew the EXACT day they went on their first day. I naturally let out a long ‘AWWWWEEEEEEE.’ How sweet is it that he can remember that.

Lauren and Joseph, I hope you guys enjoy these! You two are just lovely!

I was mildly, hold the mildly, obsessed with Lauren’s bauble necklace.

I was also obsessed with Lauren in general, red hair, green eyes. What’s not to love?

i.love.this

Excuse me while I wish I was Lauren! GORGEOUS!

Joseph really enjoys golf, and although Adam Scott has his green jacket for winning the masters, Joseph get’s Lauren! Joseph > Adam Scott

Lauren told me for the past two years, every Sunday she and Joseph do the crossword puzzle together. I LOVE THAT!

PS. L&J, doing the crossword doesn’t make you old, it just makes you AWESOME!

We hope you finished your crossword!

    Paula - Gorgeous couple!ReplyCancel

The first time I met Amy was in a Starbucks with her sweet mom. I knew instantly I liked her. She was so polite and simply southern, or so she seemed. She later told John and I that she’s actually from North Carolina, but she fits in beautifully down here in Tennessee. Amy told us that her fiance, Greg, lived out in Covington, so I of course pictured lots of farm land, and that’s about it. When we drove up to his property, it was was SO much more than I expected.

1st of all, Greg and Amy both invited us in with open arms, and even offered us a drink. They are just as charming as Greg’s amazing house, let me tell you- it is stunning. He basically built the entire thing, from the tree trunk mantel to the rustic looking farm house table, this house had me drooling, but really, I’ve told everyone I know about it. Amy told us that she and Greg have been together for almost two years, and that the first time she ever came over to his place to spend time with him she knew she needed to get to know him better. Greg was so sweet to Amy, he often had to pick her up to carry her from place to place. He did it with a smile each time (it could have been because Amy is TINY and weighs nothing.)

We decided to look around his property, John and I were going to jump in our car and follow them, but Greg said “No, yall ride with us, where we’re going your car won’t make it.” I knew then we were in for a fun adventure. When went over to Greg’s dad’s barn, his dad happened to pull up. He rolled down the window and said “Sometimes, ya just live long enough, you’ve seen everything.” He chimed in with the most perfect, hilarious words!

Amy and Greg are getting married this June, and John and I are SO stoked to be shooting their romantic day. We hope you enjoy these as much as we do!

This tall grass was beautiful, and every outfit Amy and Greg wore complimented each others so nicely!

i.love.this

Greg’s dog General was a crazy happy pup, who kept us all laughing.

How perfect does Amy just fit right into this gorgeous ‘queen’s throne?’ She played the part so well!

Perfection

This rustic white barn is on Greg’s father’s property, next door. I was obsessed.

This is actually the site where Amy and Greg’s reception will be held, it’s darling.

General took Amy’s flower and posed. We all laughed!

Amy is a doll, a doll I tell you.

We had SUCH a blast at this dreamy session! XOXO
