Heartwood Hall weddings are always so charming. Hailey and Morgan’s was no exception, it was ridiculously dreamy in all the right ways.

Remember these cuties? How could you forget?

Hailey and Morgan just celebrated their first anniversary in October, but it’s NEVER too late to blog, right? There is no such thing as perfect, but I have to say, Hailey and Morgan’s wedding just may have been an exception. They had amazing weather, and the sweetest ceremony surrounded by only their closest friends and family. Hailey’s gorgeous dress was from Maggie Louise and was designed by the fabulous Hayley Paige. Its deep plunge made such a statement, and we loved the touches of tule and lace. It was delicate and sophisticated, which is SO Hailey. Morgan and his groomsmen wore navy suits paired with burgundy ties which paired so well with Hailey’s neutral bridesmaid’s dresses.

I’m sure I can speak for all involved when I say the most memorable moment of Hailey and Morgan’s wedding day was their first look. (See photos below.) Their first look is just further proof that an intimate special moment between the bride and groom is just (if not more) special than waiting to see each other until the ceremony. TRUST me (and if not just ask Hailey and Morgan) first looks are an amazing way to spend your entire day together, shake off any nerves, and they provide more time to get amazing images!

We got to work with absolutely incredible Memphis wedding vendors on this day, and they all deserve a shout out! Lynn Doyle Flowers provided the stunning florals and day of coordination. Kasey Acuff did the makeup for Hailey and her bridesmaids, and they all looked fabulous. Emily Cohen used her queen talents and did Hailey and her maid’s hair which stayed in place even after throwing it DOWN on the dance floor. The Flour Garden made the delicious cakes that you just KNOW I had a slice of, and DeepBlu Entertainment kept everyone happy on the dance floor the entire reception.

We still keep in touch with Hailey and Morgan often, and we’re SO happy they chose us to capture their big day. We absolutely love watching the adventures marriage has taken them on, and we love seeing them grow as a couple. Hailey and Morgan, you guys are stuck with us now! We love and adore you both.

Remember Katy and Blake’s spring Annesdale Mansion engagement session?

Annesdale is stunning at all times, but if you know me, you know I love the Fall season the most. There is just something magical about the Fall months, and I love every second of it. Katy and Blake had the most amazing weather for their September wedding at Annesdale Mansion. Their florals from Paula DeClerk were absolutely stunning and honestly some of the most beautiful arrangements we have ever seen. We enjoyed working alongside Jimmy and Toni Woodard of VM Studios at Katy and Blake’s wedding. As Toni said “I don’t know if there was a single flower left in Memphis after this wedding.” I feel confident when I say I heard every single guest comment on the florals at least once. (Don’t worry, you’ll see what I mean in the photos down below.)

Since Katy is actually a talented makeup artist, she did her own makeup and she looked absolutely flawless (per usual.) Katy got her dress at Maggie Louise Bridal, and it was designed by Hayley Paige. Out of all of the weddings John and I have shot, I have to say Katy’s dress is definitely one of our most favorite dresses ever. It’s such a popular and flattering dress, we actually had another bride wear the same dress a month later. Matt Gossett did the gorgeous bridesmaid’s makeup, who all wore a deep blush bridesmaid’s dress. They looked incredible paired next to the groomsmen who wore navy.

Mona Dunlap was Katy and Blake’s wedding planner, who kept the day running smoothly. Will Tucker, Katy’s brother, was the talented entertainment for the evening which was an absolute delight to witness. It was so sweet seeing Will play for his sister’s wedding. If I had to find one word to describe Katy and Blake’s wedding, it would be “dreamy.” and even that is an understatement.

Katy and Blake decided to do a first look, which enabled them to actually spend the day together. Katy and Blake have a son named Ezra, who may have been just the cutest part of their whole day. It was so amazing seeing the Tucker and Warren family become one, and we’re so thankful we got to be a part of it.

You guys enjoy!

Lexington, Tennessee holds a special place in both Brooklyn and Keenan’s hearts. Grab your tissues, you’re in for QUITE the story.

Though these two babes have been officially a couple for 4.5 years, their story goes back to KINDERGARTEN. You heard that correctly, Kindergarten! Brooklyn and Keenan were in the same Kindergarten class at Pin Oak Elementary. When Brooklyn asked if we could do a portion of their engagement session back at their old stomping grounds, we were GIDDY. The picture below is the exact kindergarten classroom they met in. Keenan actually asked Brooklyn to marry him when he was five under a tree you’ll see pictured in this post. While Brooklyn said “no” to Keenan’s first proposal, she said “YAAAASSSSSSSS” the second time he asked. We’re SO dang glad she did because now we get to shoot their wedding NEXT weekend at Twin Oaks in Humboldt, Tennessee.

We always love hearing all about the proposal, and Brooklyn and Keenan’s was too sweet not to share. As told by Brooklyn:

“…The next day was the day of my actual “birthday party” with my family to celebrate all of the October birthdays. I got up and went to church and told Keenan I would see him at my sister’s later. When we got to my sister’s house, my mom told me to bring a tray of food around the back. I was confused as to why I couldn’t go through the house with her, but then that’s when I saw it all. I saw the love of my life, Keenan, standing in my sister’s backyard smiling at me and my sweet family off to the side. I froze and started crying on the spot. Keenan had to walk down to get me because I couldn’t make it up to him by myself. We talked for about a minute or two and he then got down on one knee and I lost it. Also at some point I think I blacked out. For about a month, my mom, dad, sister, and his mom all knew what was about to happen and no one gave anything away. It was truly a moment I will never forget.”

These guys are simply precious, and we feel SO lucky they chose us to capture this special time in their lives. This sweet couple invited us over for dinner after their engagement session. Brooklyn’s mom, Mrs. Jennifer, was so kind to cook for John and I before we headed back to Memphis. It’s safe to say we love the Parker (and future Greear) families. Brooklyn’s sister is the talented Krisy Thomas of Southern Sparkle Weddings and Events, and we’re so looking forward to working with them next weekend.

You guys enjoy!
