Sarah and Nate’s wedding is one we will be talking about for years to come. I mean who doesn’t love an elegant garden wedding?

The celebration began with Sarah and Nate getting ready alongside their best friends at Tiger and Peacock. A space known for its bold, funky, and eclectic style. With vibrant colors, playful patterns, and one-of-a-kind art, Tiger and Peacock set the tone for such a fun morning.

The rest of the celebration unfolded at the stunning Dixon Gallery & Gardens, one of Memphis’ most iconic wedding venues. Surrounded by lush greenery, blooming florals, and timeless Southern charm, the setting created a romantic and elevated backdrop for their ceremony and portraits. Betts Made, the planning team for this event, are true professionals and never cease to amaze us with their skills. This wedding was a true refection of that.

Sarah looked effortlessly elegant in her wedding gown from Maggie Louise. Complete with sleeves that added a fun and beautiful touch. Her bridal look paired beautifully with the soft, romantic color palette of the day. The florals were a true highlight—whimsical arrangements of pastel blooms that felt light, airy, and organic. From her bouquet of calla lilies to the ceremony arch and reception details, every floral element was thoughtfully designed by L & Jay Productions.

One of the most emotional moments of the day was their first look. Nate’s reaction said it all—his face lit up the moment he saw Sarah. Their ceremony, held beneath towering trees and surrounded by close friends and family, felt intimate and deeply personal. Hand-written vows and meaningful details throughout the day reflected their love story.

Photographing weddings like Sarah and Nate’s is what makes our work so rewarding. From the funky, eclectic energy of Tiger and Peacock to the timeless beauty of the gardens, their wedding day was filled with joy, personality, and such sweet moments.

Dunleith Plantation Wedding, Natchez, Mississippi- [Maggie + JH]

There are weddings that are simply beautiful, and then there are weddings that feel like something out of a dream. Maggie and JH’s unforgettable celebration at Dunleith Inn falls solidly into the latter.

As a wedding photographer, there are certain days that make you stop and appreciate the magic of what you do, and this was one of those days. From the historic charm of the venue, to Maggie’s breathtaking all-lace gown from Maggie Louise, every single detail felt intentional and deeply personal. Dunleith, with its timeless Southern architecture and iconic white columns, provided the perfect backdrop for this elegant yet vibrant day. Maggie’s vision came to life through a stunning blend of colorful florals from Oxford Floral. They brought so such joyful energy to every space. From the ceremony columns to the reception tables, each arrangement was artfully designed to pop against the venue’s classic aesthetic.

One of the moments that truly set the tone for the day was capturing Maggie’s flat lay details. As a photographer who values storytelling through imagery, flat lays are more than just pretty. They’re an introduction to the couple’s style and story. Maggie’s suite featured rich textures, custom paper goods, heirloom jewelry, and floral accents. These details made the composition feel both elevated and deeply sentimental. And then there was the dress. An all-lace number from Maggie Louise that fit her like a dream. It was one of those gowns that photographs like a piece of art.

Her hair and makeup were no exception. Heart and Soul by Ally Nicole and April Renee made Maggie’s dream hair and makeup come to fruition with low bun and soft glam. She couldn’t have picked a better style to go with the high neckline of her gorgeous dress.

The way JH looked at Maggie, the way their families embraced each other, the laughter echoing under the tent during the reception. It was all so genuine. Maggie and JH’s wedding was a joyful reminder that when love, style, and setting come together just right, the result is nothing short of magic.

In Memphis, Tennessee, there are wonderful spots that offer distinct vibes—from refined hotel lounges to chef-driven restaurants and unique event spaces. We’ve highlighted just a few of our favorites- ACRE, Pete and Sam’s, Old Dominick, The Peabody and River Inn. We also mention two spots in Oxford, MS for our Mississippi couples- The Jefferson and The Oliver Hotel.

Starting with ACRE, a beloved Memphis favorite known for its seasonal New American and Southern cuisine. The warm, locally inspired menu and approachable setting make it ideal for a rehearsal dinner that feels elevated but relaxed. Not to mention-the big yellow door that has our heart. This restaurant is the perfect spot for the more intimate of events. A great location to spend time with loved ones in style. ACRE is 10/10!

Not far away, Pete & Sam’s is one of Memphis’s most beloved historic restaurants, serving classic Italian comfort food since 1948. Family-owned and full of character, it’s long been a favorite of locals—and even Elvis Presley, who was known to dine there, adding to its legendary Memphis lore. With its warm, nostalgic atmosphere and generous, crowd-pleasing menu, Pete & Sam’s is a rehearsal dinner spot that feels authentic, welcoming, and unmistakably Memphis.

For something deeply rooted in local culture, consider hosting your event at Old Dominick Distillery—Memphis’s historic distillery with flexible indoor and outdoor spaces that can be tailored for rehearsal dinners, cocktail hours, or tasting-centric celebrations that feature craft spirits alongside Southern fare.

Similarly, River Inn of Harbor Town offers breathtaking views of the Mississippi River and an elegant setting that pairs beautifully with sunset toasts and riverfront photos. Between these, you’ll find plenty of space for everything from plated dinners to cocktail receptions with passed hors d’oeuvres and local wine or whiskey selections.

If your wedding weekend stretches into Oxford, Mississippi, that charming college town has its own set of great options that are perfect for a pre-wedding dinner. The Jefferson is more than just a venue—it’s a locally adored event space with beautifully appointed rooms overlooking a lake and flexible configurations for rehearsal dinners of all sizes. The Jefferson can often host both your rehearsal dinner and other wedding weekend events if your schedule and guest count align.

Just down the road, The Oliver Hotel of Oxford blends boutique hotel charm with excellent food and beverage options in its on-site Kingswood Restaurant and Bar. The hotel’s event spaces are specifically set up for private dinners. You can comfortably host rehearsal dinner guests before everyone groups together for your wedding weekend festivities. The Oliver Hotel is a major showstopper and we couldn’t recommend it more for our Mississippi couples.

Overton Park Engagement, Memphis Tennessee [Ashtyn + Drew]

When I tell you we are OBSESSED with these two- I’m not lying!

Ashtyn and Drew’s engagement session at Overton Park was SO much fun. From the start, their connection was easy and natural, making the session feel more like a fun date than a photo shoot. Overton Park and the Brooks Museum was the perfect setting, with its greenery and gorgeous marble walls giving their photos a timeless, effortless feel.

Ashtyn wore a white dress with the sweetest bow on the back, and it fit the vibe of the session perfectly. The look was simple, classic, and so flattering, while Drew kept things easy and true to himself. Together, they looked completely in sync, and their personalities really came through.

For the second half of their engagement session, Ashtyn changed into jeans for a more laid-back look. Ashtyn added a leopard coat that brought a little edge and personality, making this part of the session feel fun and playful. These outfits showed off how comfortable they are together and gave the photos a cozy, everyday feel.

Ashtyn and Drew will be getting married this July at Robinshaw. Their engagement session was such a perfect preview of what’s to come. If their wedding day is anything like this session, it’s going to be full of love and a whole lot of fun!

Isom Place Wedding-The Lyric Wedding-Oxford, Mississippi Wedding- [Grace & Will]

Isom Place, in the heart of Oxford, Mississippi was the perfect spot for Grace and Will’s wedding festivities to begin. From the classic white florals to the joyful celebration that followed, Grace and Will’s love story unfolded with style, and unforgettable moments from beginning to end.

Grace was a vision in her stunning wedding gown from Ivory and White Boutique. Complete with delicate lace sleeves and a regal tiara that added a touch of fairytale magic to her look. Her bridal style was timeless, feminine, and truly reflected her “grace”ful personality. See what I did there?! Will looked equally sharp in his classic tux. The way he looked at her as she walked down the aisle was one of those moments they will never forget.

The floral design by Oxford Floral was as classic as it comes. Lush white blooms that added a fresh, elegant feel to both the ceremony and reception spaces. Everything felt clean, refined, and deeply romantic.

You could definitely tell Mona Dunlap Events were the planners because no detail was overlooked. As guests arrived at the reception, they were greeted with a thoughtful and fun touch: an Aperol Spritz welcome drink. It was the perfect signature cocktail for a chilly Southern evening in January. That small detail set the tone for a celebration that was both elevated and full of personality.

From heartfelt toasts to dancing at The Lyric, every moment of Grace and Will’s Oxford wedding was full of celebration. Being part of weddings like this—where every detail is intentional—is exactly why we do what we do.
