Oxford-mississippi-wedding

The Jefferson Wedding venue in Oxford, Mississippi is an absolute dream come true. Meet Hannah + Jesse. Despite looking like a model couple for some styled shoot, these two are in fact, THE REAL deal. They really are a REAL couple, they really did get married, and this wedding really was three years ago. I know, I know, but hey, I couldn’t move forward with updating our blog without including Hannah + Jesse’s Oxford Mississippi, Jefferson Wedding.

I think Hannah’s wedding dress was the first time I ever photographed a Berta gown. If you also live under a rock, just do a light google search for “Berta Bridal.” You’re welcome. I drool over every gown Berta has ever made, Hannah’s included. I’m also pretty sure Hannah + Jesse’s wedding was our first ever Jefferson Wedding, and TBH, John and I fell in love with it. The Jefferson is a mix of rustic and urban on 90 acres of land. It’s a huge space that John and I have since shot at multiple times. Even with a large guest list, it never feels too crowded at The Jefferson. One of the owners, Margie, is so kind, so professional, and so flexible to work with. All of our couples only have the greatest things to say about their experience with The Jefferson. Though we’re based out of Memphis, Tn, John and I never mind the short trip to Oxford when we get to shoot at The Jefferson.

As if Hannah + Jesse aren’t quite literally the most gorgeous couple you’ve ever seen, they are also both medical doctors. BEAUTY AND BRAINS, WHAT?! Two Doctor Austins are better than one =]  Over the last 3 years, John and I have so enjoyed watching all of their life accomplishments, especially when they had their gorgeous son, Ace.

This wedding blog may be a tad late. but it’s nothing short of magical! Enjoy

This Fall Robinshaw Wedding will forever be one of our all time favorites.

Meet Gracie + Cameron. No, it doesn’t get ANY cuter than these two. John and I never even met these babes until their wedding day, but it didn’t take more than a few minutes to feel like we were hanging out with old friends. Gracie + Cameron don’t currently live in Memphis, so we didn’t get the chance to do their engagement photos. You would never know that because both of these guys are SO natural in front of the camera.

This was our first ever Robinshaw wedding, and let me tell you, it’s even more magical in person. The Robinshaw is absolutely GIANT with such amazing natural light. The bridal suite has everyone’s most favorite Anthropologie Primrose mirror, and lots of windows for all of that gorgeous natural light. It’s truly a photographer’s dream. Fun fact, three days AFTER Gracie + Cameron’s wedding, we found out about baby Ginn! We have nothing but good memories when we think back to this magical day.

Part of why Gracie + Cameron had such an amazing experience was because of their amazing vendor lineup. On top of their gorgeous venue, they had Southern Bloom as their florist and wedding planner. She kept everyone on time, and don’t get me started on her floral arrangements! Kasey Acuff + Heather Griffith were Gracie’s glam team and they had everyone looking like they could walk the red carpet.

One of our most favorite parts of this day (and there are many) is when Gracie did her first look with her dad. Talk about an actual tear fest, it truly was such a precious moment that is now forever frozen in time. I’m getting choked up even thinking about it. Just wait until you see the pics below.

Since Gracie + Cameron’s wedding, both of them and their entire family have been some of our biggest cheerleaders. Gracie comments on all of our social media posts, even when it’s of another couple. She’s our hype woman and we love her for it. Gracie’s parents live in our neighborhood and we sometimes see them while we’re walking Tebow + Luna. Sweet Gracie’s mom has even offered to come watch baby Ginn once he arrives. We have the very best job and we are so beyond thankful for the people we have surrounding us who go out of their way to support us.

Yall enjoy!

Adee + Austin’s Annesdale Mansion Wedding is one to gawk over. Just look at these two!

I am still climbing out of the dark hole that 2020 left us in, in terms of catching up on the media/blogging portion of our job, but we shot so many gorgeous weddings that still deserve your attention.

If Adee and Austin look familiar to you it may be from their sweet engagement post.

As if they could get ANY cuter, Adee + Austin added baby MAPLE to their little family, and we are SO glad they had their pups in a few of their photos that are SURE to be everyone’s fave!

Annesdale Mansion is perfect in so many ways but one of its most appealing features is the inside, SPECIFICALLY if it rains. Adee + Austin had a tiny bit of rain of their wedding day, but with a venue as stunning as Annesdale, it honestly doesn’t matter. Take a peek at where Adee put her dress on: a stark white room with vaulted ceilings. We also did one set of family photos in this room, due to weather and it still looks perfect. Since Adee + Austin’s wedding was in November, they thought through potential temperature issues, which is thoughtful considering you don’t want your guests to freeze.

John Mark did an exceptional job on Adee + Austin’s florals, per usual. The arch in the garden made such a statement and the guests were absolutely speechless over it. One of the most fun parts of Adee + Austin’s wedding day was their reception. The music was amazing, the food was amazing, and the coolest part- a cheese dip FOUNTAIN. You heard that correctly, a cheese dip fountain. Be sure to check out that photo down below!

You guys enjoy!

Tips, tricks, and advice to make your engagement session run smoothly, fun, and efficient!

Nervous about your engagement session? Don’t worry, that’s completely normal, you won’t feel that way for very long! John and I designed this PDF to set you up for pure success for your engagement session. This is a MUST READ!

Question: Typically how long are engagement sessions?

Answer: Expect to spend about 1 to 1.5 hours at your engagement session. Arrive completely dressed and ready at least 10 minutes before your session, so we can start right on time.

Question: How many outfits can we wear at our engagement session?

Answer: We suggest no more than two outfits for our 1.5 hour timeframe. Our couples will usually wear a dressy outfit and a casual outfit, and we spend about 45 minutes in each outfit. Additional outfit changes take time, and that cuts into available daylight, as well as your engagement session time. Additional time can be purchased for engagement sessions, but this will need to be discussed prior to your engagement session date.

Question: What happens if it rains/overcast skies/high winds?

Answer: Short answer, we reschedule. While rescheduling throws a wrench in everyone’s plans, none of us can control the weather, and the last thing we want for you is to pay for images (not to mention, hair and makeup) that you are disappointed in. As you know, we can’t shoot in the rain, so we will be sure to watch the weather closely and contact you with as much notice as possible. Since Memphis weather can sometimes be pretty unpredictable, we ask that you stay flexible if we do have to make the call to reschedule. Be sure to refer to this portion of your contract for more information.

Question: Can we bring our dog(s)?

Answer: ABSOLUTELY! We LOVE when our couples bring their dog(s)! The *only* thing we require when fur babies are involved is that you have another person there with you to help assist with the pet. Pet photos only take about 10 minutes of time, so we always like to do those first. Have someone come to the session for the first 10 minutes, to help get the pet’s attention (with treats, toys, etc) and then after those 10 minutes, have that person leave with your pet!

Question: Can my parent/ friend come hang out with all of us/watch during the session?

Answer: While we love friends and family, we’ve found our couples do better when no one else is hanging around with them, so we kindly ask that you two show up without anyone else!

Question: Can we pick our location for our engagement session?

Answer: Absolutely! We like to make suggestions because we know which locations photograph well, but we’re happy to shoot where you’d like! Keep in mind as your contract mentions, downtown Memphis engagement sessions are an additional $150. Refer to that portion of your contract for more info!

Question: Are we going to have a blast at our engagement session?

Answer: Absolutely, and we cannot wait!
