Not many people can say they have been on top of the Fedex Forum. That’s Fedex Forum, not THE Fedex forum.
Luckily, John and I are extremely blessed with an amazing job that puts us in contact with some pretty spectacular, passionate people.
Meet Marina and Tom.
You may remember, I have once before shot in the Fedex Forum. This however, was the first time I had ever shot on TOP of the Fedex Forum. Both times were made possible by sweet, sweet Tom. When Marina mentioned that we would be able to use to top of the Forum, I was thrilled. It wasn’t until Tom opened the door on the roof that I realized the Forum is shaped like a dome at one point. The roof was wet with dew, I just had mouth surgery, and I was wearing the wrong shoes, but I remembered the climb would totally be worth it for the view.
Dude, was I right.
I can’t tell you how many times I had to put my hand over my mouth. It was gorgeous. We decided to shoot these engagement early in the morning, and boy am I thankful we did. It was absolutely gorgeous light. I think morning sessions are my new favorite.
I met Marina through Kelly. She was SUCH a loyal, emotional bridesmaid, it only took minutes for me to love her. Marina is the type of girl who will instantly make you feel like an old friend. She is positive, feisty, cheerful, and drop dead gorgeous. On my birthday last year, John and I went to dinner with my family. We ran into sweet Marina. She ran up and hugged me, introduced herself to my family and said “One day, John and Kelly are going to shoot OUR wedding.” She’s such a supportive sweet friend. We were thrilled for Marina when we saw she got engaged. Unfortunately our schedules didn’t match up for us to shoot her Colorado wedding, but we were lucky enough to shoot Marina’s engagements!
There are a couple of things you need to know before you get to the ‘goods.’
1. Marina is a dancer. She definitely has a dancer’s heart. In fact, I’m confident she was born twirling. You’ll see a lot of twirling in this session. I love it because I feel like you can so easily see Marina’s sweet spirit. She really is a genuinely happy person whose soul shines through like the sun.
2. Marina and Tom both LOVE sports. Their first date was a six hour car ride to a UT game. Marina must have known Tom was special, because six hours there, six hours back is a LONG time. Marina said she remembered a funny story about that car ride of fate. Marina said Tom had this nervous cough/hair flip thing going on, and now she just looks back and laughs at it. I would be nervous too if I had such a beauty in the car with me.
I don’t know a whole lot about Tom, but what I do know, I love. He’s such a Godly man. Marina’s parents must be so proud that she is marrying such a proud and strong leader. Tom and John cracked jokes through out the entire session. He’s an intelligent, funny, athletic, passionate man.
We’re SO glad that Marina and Tom’s path crossed.
