Jamie is SO near and dear to my heart. I have known her since we were in middle school, and although she is a year younger than I am, I’ve always looked up to her. She marches to the beat of her own drum, she is brave, creative, and the strongest young women I know. You may remember Jamie, and her ADORABLE son Asher (who is sure to steal the show) from Asher’s one year portraits. (https://kellyginnphotography.com/asher-1-year/)

When Jamie told me that she knew she would be getting engaged soon I was tickled pink. When she asked ME to shoot her wedding, I could have cried. I had never met Gary, but as soon as I did, I knew instantly why Jamie was head over heels in love with him.

Gary is SO calm, such a good listener, and compliments Jamie in every way possible. When I asked these love birds how they met, I was surprised to hear the story. Gary was a patient at the chiropractic office that Jamie works for. She had noticed him several times, and he obviously noticed her (I mean HELLO, Jamie is breathtakingly beautiful). When he would come in for his appointments, Jamie’s co-workers would give her a hard time because she would get all flustered and turn red. How adorable. He finally worked up the nerve to ask her out, and well, you know the rest.

Gary is SO kind, and so sweet that during their engagement session he literally let me call him GARRETT for the first hour. (I WAS MORTIFIED.) Of course J&G and John thought it was hilarious. Fortunately it provided for natural laughter, and as Jamie said “no need for fake laughter today.”

Gary’s property is on a lake with a GORGEOUS dock. Like us, J&G and sweet handsome Asher LOVE dogs. (For the record, John and I are convinced that if you DON’T like dogs, then you probably don’t have a soul, and that’s a fact, Jack.) Mave and Darbie joined us for the shoot and they were both delightful. Dogs are SUCH an important part of our lives, and I wished Tebow (our fluffy golden) would have been included in our engagement/wedding.

Jamie and Gary are getting married THIS September, and of course, we are honored as ever that WE get to be there to document it.

J&G you two deserve each other. I am so ecstatic that you found each other, and that you are crazy about each other. Can’t wait to see what adventures your marriage takes you on!

Enjoy.

My, my. Asher is SUCH a big boy now.

When you have a boog, you have a boog.

Gary did one amazing job!

Almost every engagement session I do, the bride to be will request a ‘piggy back’ pic. I much prefer this.

One of my faves.

Congrats you guys!

What is not to love about Justin and Katey? First of all, they are J&K’s just like John and I, so that automatically makes them cool-along with about a thousand other amazing things, Justin and Katey are DREAM clients.

I met J&K through mutual friends, Megan and Cody.( https://kellyginnphotography.com/megancody-a-sparkling-night-on-the-town-2/ )We shot engagements for them and they hired us to shoot their wedding this October in the Dominican Republic! I am SO glad Katey asked for my contact information, because I just adore this couple.

When Katey told me she and Justin were planning on being married at the Dixon Museum/Gardens, I was thrilled! With a degree in art, I had only been there 100 times while in college and I loved it more each time I visited.

When John and I sat down with J&K on a rainy weekend at a very crowded Starbucks, we loved the connection they had with each other. They both seemed to always be on the same page with, even finishing each other’s sentences. We could tell they truly found their match, and felt SO honored when they booked us right then and there.

When we discussed whether or not the blushing couple was planning on seeing each other before the wedding, in unison they both said “definitely.” This surprised me because I have found in most cases my brides say no, which I have to understand because I too told my photographer “no” and to this day I still don’t regret it. Justin and Katey began to explain to me that they are both nervous people and that they would either be flooded with emotions if they waited or have no emotion at all. HA, so to avoid that we planned a first look, and I’ll warn you, good luck NOT crying when you see these. They are so perfect I could just look at them every day of my life. They remind me of how truly blessed I am to be able to do this every weekend of my life.

J&K were SO awesome to work with. They kept asking for suggestions, and were SO willing to do some of the craziest stuff I had up my sleeve. At one point during their bride and groom portraits I got excited over one of the pictures in particular (as I always do) and Justin said “It feels really wonderful to have a photographer that is more than just a photographer, anyone who is anyone can see how passionate you truly are, we are in good hands.” I could have just hugged him right then and there.

Mr. and Dr. Wingo, (yes people, Katey is a doctor, beauty and brains!) I hope you enjoy these. You two deserve the world, and I honestly believe you found that in each other!

Congrats!

I may have danced a little, my girl was on.

Sweet Katey even offered me a mimosa. I warned her of exactly what would happen if I drank it, so she did instead =]

Shout out to JTG for most of these amazing close ups. I love, love, love them ALL!

and, I sit here with tissues.

Heart is completely melting.

Justin, every girl who looks at this session is now in love with you. Every girl wants their groom to react this way. It’s picture perfect.

I wish I had a tape recorder when Justin was telling Katey how perfect she looked. I can’t remember all he said, but I know he said “I knew you were going to be beautiful, but I never knew I was going to feel this euphoria, this is the most amazing feeling ever.” I walked away after that for a moment to wipe my eyes.

I love that Justin wanted some of their portraits with Raybans. I love this look.

I’m always looking for new ways to take a veil picture, and I love this!

Grandma kisses!

Katey comes from a LONG line of loveliness, that’s for sure!

Katey requested a non-traditional first kiss, so I am hidden behind her. John, my trusty second shooter and hubby always nails the traditional views, so we get the best of both worlds!

Katey and Justin will forever have their loved ones frozen in their first kiss as Mr. and Mrs. Wingo, how precious is that?

Congrats you guys!

    Susan - Dear Kelly,

Thank you so much for posting these. Being over 4k miles I couldn’t attend my Nephews wedding. You have now made me feel like I was there with them viewing the pictures.

Justin, your reaction to seeing Katey for the first time was one of the most honest and lovely photos I have ever seen.

I wish you both all the happiness and love two people could ever have in their lifetimes.

Much much love to all of you that made this dream a reality.

Tami - Kelly, I love your photographs. You both did such a great job. I love the non-traditional and artistic shots. It’s impossible to pick a favorite. Also, the random shots of the guests were great. I laughed out loud at some of them. Thanks to you both for capturing all the special moments of Katey’s wedding day. In fifty years they will look back and be able to remember so many more details from that day because of all the lovely pictures.ReplyCancel

Sydney and I first met at a Starbucks inside Barnes and Noble. I couldn’t help but notice her adorable brown doe eyes. Basically the best and most accurate way to describe Sydney or ‘squid’ as her friends and Chris call her, is simply adorable. She really is.

We actually happened to know a lot of the same people, even though we didn’t know each other. When she hired me and told me they booked the Cadre, a Memphis favorite, I was a bit nervous because the Cadre is its OWN kind of beast. I loved it though, and I’m eager to shoot a few more of my upcoming weddings there in the future.

I met Sydney at her hair salon the morning of, and she was as cool as a cucumber. It turned out that her hair stylist, the one she did her hair trial with was sick. Where a normal bride would have either fainted, turned into bridezilla, or sobbed, Sydney shrugged her shoulders and just rolled with the punches. I love that about her.

For those of you who don’t know, the Cadre is in downtown Memphis and the architecture is just lovely. I actually wish I knew more about it, I must call Ted Mosby from ‘How I Met Your Mother’ and ask him.

I’ll let these pictures do the talking =]

Enjoy.

I love Sydney’s expression.

Sydney wrote Chris a note, and gave him Lucky 7 scratch off cards since they got married on June 7th!

Sydney’s yellow canary diamond was pure perfection.

I wanted to snag that coral vintage suitcase, it was too perfect!

Holiday Flowers did SUCH a great job with the flowers and Holly Burris of South Holly Road did an incredible job bringing Sydney’s vision to life. http://southhollyroad.com/

I wish I would have had enough courage to rock a birdcage veil on my wedding day. Sydney, you are fierce!

The bridesmaid on the right is named Cricket. That’s her real name. The cutest name I’ve ever heard.

Sydney is a doe eyed beauty!

I love grooms/groomsmen with personalities

Apparently John and Chris BOTH share a love for penguins!

Sydney warned me ahead of time that she and her dad were silly together. She said it only made sense that they walk down to the bridal march remix. Needless to say the crowd got really involved.

Chris couldn’t help but laugh at Sydney breakdancing down the aisle.

I get to shoot these cutie’s wedding in October of next year!

Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Gully!

The Hardin House | A Classic Cadre Wedding - […] (Via Kelly Ginn Photography) […]ReplyCancel

I am so excited to finally be posting Amy and Greg’s romantic wedding. After having five weddings in May, and four in June, on top of a minor (not so minor) surgery, and moving into a new home, I can honestly say I am ready for normal routines to come on back in my life. Shoot, edit, post. (I sleep, eat, and laugh somewhere in between those.)

Do you remember Amy and Greg?

How could you forget those cuties? https://kellyginnphotography.com/amygreg-a-spring-meadow-engagement/

I’ll be honest, I looked at the weather probably 20 times the week of their wedding and was TERRIFIED by what I saw. I kept my fingers crossed and said my prayers, but it still wasn’t looking too good. I sent Amy a couple of texts on the morning of her wedding just telling her that I was excited about her day, and that I’d see her soon. She replied “Please pray for no rain.” Amy is A LOT of things, a lot: adorable, fun, loud, stunning, brave, fearless, tiny, smart, I could go on and on.. but when I think of Amy the first word that comes to mind is faithful.

When John and I arrived at Amy’s church she greeted us with a hug. You could tell she was holding back tears, but stayed so calm and strong. I probably saw her and her family/bridesmaids pray and hug three or four different times. Each and every time after, Amy would have even more pep in her step. NOTHING can keep this girl from smiling and laughing. I can honestly say I have never met anyone as naturally happy as she. You will notice throughout this post that she laughs more than anyone you know, even as she was walking down the aisle. Happy girls are the prettiest girls.

Although the ground was wet from an earlier storm, I never once saw it rain on Amy and Greg’s special day. The sun even poked out for a minute. We were limited as to where we could stand because of the wet and soggy ground, but Amy and Greg couldn’t have cared less. They both knew that wasn’t what their day was about, and I love that about them.

This was a VERY emotional wedding. I saw almost everyone shed a tear or two at one point throughout the day, but hey, it’s a wedding! Amy’s sweet sweet mom, Mrs. Mary Ann, was so precious and supportive. I once saw she and Amy praying alone together in the corner. They didn’t let the chance of showers get them down.

Before I get TOO wordy, I will let these gorgeous images speak for themselves.

Amy and Greg, you guys are beautiful, charming, and your love for each other radiates for everyone to see. You two deserve each other, and we are thankful that we got to spend the entire day with you!

Enjoy!

We all need a friend to fan us on our wedding day, Bethany is that friend.

One minute she laughs, the other she cries.

I wish I could make first looks mandatory, haha. I’m SO contradicting, because I didn’t even see John before, but it gives the bride and groom a moment alone. It’s a precious memory they will never forget.

Amy could hardly contain herself.

So, Greg threatened to ‘de-friend’ me on Facebook if I posted any emotional images of him. Although Amy encouraged me to do so, Greg I will have to take my chances, because these images are the sweetest ones I have ever seen, You just won the heart of EVERY single person who looks at this post. You’re their hero =]

The talented John Ginn shot this, and many others throughout this post!

Greg, every bride wishes their groom would act like this, promise!

Now I am crying all over again.

Amy, geeze. Just stop. You are hauntingly beautiful, and that is a serious compliment.

Quite possibly my favorite.

I love when my brides cheer and chant on their wedding day.

I posted this on Facebook yesterday with a caption that said “I look for children like this during wedding ceremonies, because once upon a time, I use to be that exact child.” One of my families oldest friends commented on it and said “Once upon a time?” haha, she called me out for sure!

Amy was able to have her dad walk her down the aisle, and marry her. That is just precious.

And she laid one on him!

After the ceremony, and before the reception, we got to take a detour to Greg’s barn for some casual photos!

John took this. I feel so blessed to have him get creative wedding photos while I’m getting the safe, must have ones. We’re a good team!

This vintage window from an old church was the PERFECT backdrop for their cake.

This was truly stunning.

When party lights fall, the inner cheerleader inside you comes out. I am surprised I even was able to pull it together and take a picture because I was bent over laughing.

Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Williams!

Melissa Roberts - These honestly are some of the best wedding photos I have ever seen. They tell the story so well with an emphasis on the emotion of the union. Amy you were a radiant bride and John your joy was palatable. I pray the joy you felt that day will stay in your hearts for all your future years together.ReplyCancel
